I finally watched this show. I do not recommend it to anyone.
Here are some of the controversial, negative, cringeworthy, stupid and problematic things you can see in the second season of this popular HBO show.
Episode 1:
- Kids taking drugs
- Normalization of child abuse and soldiering
- Glorifying cosmetic abuse and Aryan ideology
- A young man nearly beating another man to death at a party without anyone filming
- Physical assault and mental illness
Episode 2:
- Normalization of child soldiering
- Appreciated Rape alongside Aryan ideology
- Drug abuse
Episode 3:
- Underage sex
- Male gay relationship between two very similar people
- Glorification of drug addiction

- Promotion of undefined and unrestrained sexual identity
Episode 4:
- Promoting the ideal of being a sex object
- Promoting being a mess while party-life
- Promotion of Aryan beauty ideals
- Promotion of homosexual and sexual predator ideology
- Promotion of driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol and other drugs
Episode 5:
- Parent abuse
- Drug addiction
- House robbery
- Glorified validation of forced injection without consent
Episode 6:
- Claiming external validation is most important
- Mental illness and parent abuse
- Parents being mostly useless apart from finance facilitation
- Normalization of voyeurism and sexual deviancy
Episode 7:
- Drug addiction
- Lionizing the importance of first-world issues over fundamental ones
- The message that 'your neuroticism is the most important thing in your story'
- A son dreaming of his father raping him followed by a long showcase of homo-eroticism
Episode 8:
- Murder
- Not dirty police
- An unrealistically budgeted school play
- Parents being largely useless
Overall:
- White male penis promotion
- Displays life without real repercussions because of youth
- Devaluing black and minority relationships
- Promotes family as powerless
- Normalization of largely inaudible mumbling and whispering
- Portrays being 'woke' and aware as a result or attribution of drug addiction
- Promotion of misery-inducing music
- Somehow making this girl (Chloe Cherry) appear to have an 'ideal' face
I must commend this show for providing a ride and being exceptionally well made aesthetically, but it is undeniable poisonous programming.
